Case Statement | Why Support Catalyst?
In an age of online media and web connections, our community needs
tangible relationships. Our emerging culture is increasingly becoming
web and tech savvy. People are using technological tools to stay
connected with peers and partners. We need to find ways of using
online tools as a way of facilitating and nurturing offline interactions.
| Catalyst Long Beach is a new grassroots organization
with a vision to inspire every area and region with a greater
sense of community, collaboration and citizenship through
meaningful relationships. Our mission is to develop the relational
infrastructure of an area by catalyzing sub-communities into
an open system of relationships where members connect with
one another and mutually contribute to and utilize a common
pool of resources and services.
As an organization, we are working to develop a relational infrastructure throughout our area and region that will utilize online tools to connect the many fragmented social circles within our community through an Open System of Relationships. We are working to develop a Common Pool of Resources to allow people and organizations the ability of finding items and volunteer support that they are seeking. We are working to develop partnerships with community groups, businesses, and public agencies to serve the broader community with professional services, workshops, trainings, and classes.
